She called my dad the day after I left Florida and told him that she found drugs in my belongings left behind. Her hope was that he’d be so furious that he’d disown me and cut me off and I’d have to drop out of college to come live with her.

Falling asleep watching tv.

It’s nice.  What you hear starts being distorted and you start dreaming.  Then you open your eyes a little bit and realize how comfortable you are.
